How to make a video your wallpaper on Android
Depending on the make and model of your Android phone, you may have a pre-installed app or feature that converts a video you take of your gorgeous cat, Pierre (the not really French line), into a format that can be used as a background. of video screen. If not, there are plenty of options on the Play Store for apps that turn a video you’ve taken into a live wallpaper, like VideoWall or Video Live Wallpaper. If your phone comes with this feature installed without the need to download a separate app, here are the steps to follow:
The following instructions should apply no matter who made your Android phone: Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc.
- Navigate to Settings > Display > Background
- You will be presented with a list of options, such as Gallery, Live Wallpapers, Photos, Wallpapers, and Zedge.
If you have Zedge installed or another wallpaper app, the ones most often appear at the bottom of this list. If you want to use a live wallpaper you’ve downloaded from Zedge or another app, you’ll find it in the live wallpaper list or below that app instead of the Gallery in the next step.
- Select Gallery . You will see a list of folders in your Gallery, such as Camera Roll, Download, Wallpaper, Video, etc. Navigate to the Gallery folder where the video clip is saved.
- Once you find the video clip you want to use as your background, click on the thumbnail image and you’ll be taken to a preview screen.
- Click the check mark or Set wallpaper . Depending on the make and model of your phone, it may be at the top or bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Home button to return to the home screen and view the video wallpaper.
Set a video as wallpaper on iPhone
iPhone 6S or 6S+ or newer can use the video wallpaper! You can use any video clip you’ve captured using the Live Photo feature of your iPhone’s camera app. Here are the steps:
- Navigate to Settings > Wallpaper
- Click Choose a new wallpaper
- You will be presented with 4 options: Dynamic, Stills, Live or you can choose an item from your photo folders. Select Live .
- Choose the live wallpaper (also known as live photo) that you would like to use by clicking on it. Adjust the preview image as desired by pinching or spreading to zoom in or out. When you’re ready to set it up, there will be three options at the bottom of the screen: Still, Perspective, and Live. Click Live .
- Press the home button to exit the menu and see your new video/live wallpaper.
