How to access PlayStation Network through a PSN account

Creating a PlayStation Network (PSN) account allows you to shop online for downloadable games, demos, HD movies, shows, and music. After you create your account, you can enable televisions, home audio/video devices, and PlayStation systems to connect to your account.

There are three ways to sign up for a PSN account; creating an account in one place will allow you to log in through any of the others. The first is the easiest, which is to use your computer, but you can also create a new PlayStation Network account from a PS4, PS3 or PSP.

Signing up for PSN on the website or on PlayStation allows you to create a master account with connected sub-accounts. This is especially useful if you have children because they can use the subaccounts with restrictions set by you, such as spending limits or parental blocks for certain content.

Remember that when you create your PSN Online ID, you can never change it in the future. It is forever linked to the email address you use to create your PSN account.

Create a PSN account on a computer

1. Visit the Create a new Sony Entertainment Network account page.
2. Enter your personal information, such as your email address, date of birth, and location information, and then choose a password.
3. Click I Agree. Create my account. .

4. Please verify your email address using the link provided in the email you should have received from Sony after completing Step 3.
5. Go back to the Sony Entertainment Network website and click Continue .
6. Click the Update Account image on the next page.
7. Choose the Online ID that others will see when you play online.
8. Click Continue .
9. Finish updating your PlayStation Network account with your name, security questions, location information, optional billing information, etc. by tapping Continue after each screen.
10. Click Finish when you have finished filling in your PSN account details.

You should see a message that says Your account is ready to access PlayStation Network.

Create a PSN account on a PS4

1. 1. With the console powered on and the controller activated (press the PS button ), select New User on the screen.

   2. Select Create a user and accept the user agreement on the next page.
   3. Click Next in the PlayStation Network area.

   5. Go back to the Sony Entertainment Network website and click Continue .
   6. Click the Update Account image on the next page.
   7. Choose the Online ID that others will see when you play online.
