Somewhat surprisingly, Microsoft released two cumulative updates for Windows 10 versions 1809 and 1803 last night with updates KB4505056 and KB4505064 . These two updates are interim updates to fix a known bug (more on that later).
After installing update KB4505056 , Windows 10 version 1809 shows build number 17763.504 and Windows 10 version 1803 shows build number 17134.766 after installing update KB4505064 . Both updates have been available for download since last night via the Windows Update function and the Windows Update Catalog.
Both the KB4505064 and KB4505056 updates only contain the following troubleshooting.
- Both updates fix an issue that may prevent access to some gov.uk websites that do not support HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) when using Internet Explorer 11 or Microsoft Edge.
Unfortunately, both updates continue to contain the same other bugs that we explained to you in the last cumulative updates KB4494441 and KB4499167 . It is unclear why Microsoft did not remove these errors at the same time.
