Google Assistant has new voice options

Google Assistant is a virtual assistant app that lets you interact with your phone, tablet, Google Home, and other devices with your voice. It’s designed to respond to your voice with a natural-sounding voice of its own. If you’re not a fan of the way it sounds, or if you’re ready for a change, Google lets you change the voice of your Google Assistant at any time.

The available Google Assistant voice options depend on the device, as some older phones do not have the full range of voice options.

Google Assistant allows you to change the voice you use from within the voice-activated Google Assistant interface. Instead of letting you select from all available voices, this quick option just toggles between the default voice and another voice.

To quickly change the voice of your Google Assistant, without digging through the settings menus, follow these steps:

  1. Activate Google Assistant by saying Ok Google or by tapping the Google Assistant microphone icon.
  2. Say change voice .
  3. Say yes to keep the new voice, or no to go back to the old voice.

The two voices you can access through this method are the original default female voice and the latest default male voice.
