KB4073291 for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 32-bit version released

Last night Microsoft added a special update for the 32-bit version of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Version 1709 with the update KB4073291 . It raises the Windows 10 build number to version number 16299.201 . Microsoft has not released particularly much information about this update.

This update provides additional protection for the 32-bit ( x86 ) version of Windows 10 1709 after you install the January 3, 2018 update , KB4056892 (OS Build 16299.192) .

KB4073291

However, there are already the first known problems with the update. These are as follows:

  • Windows Update History reports that the update  KB4054517 for the update Fehelrcode 0x80070643 could not be installed.
    Solution:
Although the update was successfully installed, Windows Update incorrectly reports that the update could not be installed. To check the installation, select Check for updates to confirm that no further updates are available.
You can also type About your PC in the search box on the taskbar to confirm that your device is using the expected OS build.
  • When calling CoInitializeSecurity, the call fails if RPC_C_IMP_LEVEL_NONE is passed under certain conditions.
When calling CoInitializeSecurity, the call may fail if RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_NONE is passed as the authentication level. The error returned in the event of an error is STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL .
    Solution:
Change the authentication level parameter to RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_CALL .
  • Due to compatibility issues with some versions of antivirus software , this update results in abort errors or abrupt restarts .
    Solution:
Contact your virus protection provider and follow their instructions.

Microsoft is already working on a solution and will provide an update in an upcoming version. Here you can download the update KB4073291 .
