“ Unable to Join Network Failure (error -3) ” error message appears on an iPhone when it fails to connect to a Wi-Fi network. In fact, the reasons for this problem are the same as PCs not connecting to a wireless home network or public hotspot. To resolve these issues, do the following:
- Check the network name (SSID) settings on the iPhone to make sure it matches the Wi-Fi access point. Remember that SSIDs are case sensitive.
- Check the security settings (WEP or WPA settings) on iPhone to make sure the values ( encryption keys or passphrases) match the access point. Encryption keys are not case sensitive, but passphrases are.
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, troubleshoot the security on the Wi-Fi access point. Contact your access point administrator for additional help if needed.
